Update October 2021

Children and young people aged under 18 years 6 months who usually attend an education or childcare setting and who have been identified as a close contact should continue to attend the setting as normal. They do not need to wear a face covering within the setting, but it is expected and recommended that these are worn when travelling on public or dedicated transport.

You will not be required to self-isolate if you are notified you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 and any of the following apply:
-
you are fully vaccinated
-
you are below the age of 18 years 6 months
-
you have taken part in or are currently part of an approved COVID-19 vaccine trial
-
you are not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons
Fully vaccinated means that you have been vaccinated with an MHRA approved COVID-19 vaccine in the UK, and at least 14 days have passed since you received the recommended doses of that vaccine.

Update March 2021: Face-to-face tuition

From 29 March, ...
Indoor provision to:
-
all other children, where the provision is one of the following: ...
-
being used by electively home educating parents as part of their arrangements for their child to receive a suitable full-time education
-
being used as part of their efforts to obtain a regulated qualification, meet the entry requirements for an education institution, or to undertake exams and assessments
-
The government’s intention is then for out-of-school settings and wraparound childcare providers to be able offer provision to all children, without restriction on the reasons for which they may attend, from the start of the school summer term. This will be no earlier than 12 April, and will be confirmed as part of step 2 of the COVID-19 response - spring 2021.

Update 31 December 2020
"Subject to any local tiers of restriction, out-of-school settings and wraparound childcare should continue to operate for face-to-face provision between 4 and 18 January 2021 for children who eligible to attend school for full-time on-site provision.... Children who are home educated can also continue to attend wraparound childcare and out-of-school settings.
Pupils who are not eligible for on-site education provision in January 2021 should not attend out-of-school settings (such as extracurricular clubs or supplementary schools)."
